Infancy is a visual exploration of biological and theological notions of birth, and the human body’s relationship with  antiquated societal ideas of “purity”. Anyone can be perceived as morally pure when placed in a vacuum, or in this instance, a womb.
American Relics    January 2025
The Marlboro Man was an icon of American advertising throughout the 70’s and 80’s, selling an idealistic fantasy surrounding the roles of masculinity and the great American wilderness. As the long-standing appeal of tobacco has declined, and our collective perception of smoking has changed, I placed the once celebrated figure amongst settings that feel both incongruous to our traditional ideas around the consumption of cigarettes, but more fitting to our contemporary culture.
